It's true – this is not going to be a conventional wedding. As such, we realize that you may have some questions. Below are some of the most common we've received so far.

What's the schedule for the blessed day?

We're still nailing that down, but it'll look a little something like this:

4:30 PM

Ceremony

5:00 PM

Reception begins

6:00 PM

Dinner

7:00 PM

Dessert and Dancing

~10-11 PM

Reception concludes

How do I get there?

Quailcrest Farm, the venue for the wedding, is located at:

2810 Armstrong Rd.
Wooster, Ohio 44691

Quailcrest Farm can be found on Google Maps right here.

Alternatively, here are directions, courtesy of Quailcrest's website:

coming from Cleveland or Akron

Take Interstate 71 South the exit 204 (St.l Rt. 83, Wooster/Lodi), make a left at the exit ramp and come 7 miles south to Armstrong Rd. You will see our sign that says Quailcrest Farm 2nd right. Turn right on Armstrong Road and we are a 3/4 miles down on the left.

coming from Columbus or Mansfield

Take Interstate 71 North the exit 204 (St. Rt. 83, Wooster/Lodi), make a right at the exit ramp and come 7 miles south to Armstrong Rd. You will see our sign that says Quailcrest Farm 2nd right. Turn right on Armstrong Road and we are a 3/4 miles down on the left.

coming from Canton

Take Rt. 30 west to Wooster. Just before Wooster you will exit at the Medina/Rt. 3/Rt.83 north exit. Follow the St. Rt. 83 North signs, past the commercial/fast food area, etc. Once you pass the commercial area on St. Rt. 83 continue on for 5 miles. You will see our sign that says Quailcrest Farm next left. Make a left on Armstrong Road and we are 3/4 miles down on the left.

Should I wear a costume?

Yes and no. Although we kindly ask that all guests wear "normal" wear to the ceremony, as for the reception, anything goes. Guests inclined to wear costumes at the reception (which we're designing to be one fantastic Halloween bash) are invited to bring their costumes along and then change in the restrooms at the reception barn after the conclusion of the ceremony.

Should I book my hotel room now?

Heck yes. As noted on the Hotel page, we have a block of rooms set aside at the Hampton Inn in Wooster, but the discounted rate expires on September 30th. We recommend that you go ahead and reserve a room post-haste. As in now, if possible.

Why Halloween?

Several reasons. One, both of us love Halloween. Two, we wanted to get married at a time of year when all of our friends from around the world would get a chance to see our hometown at its most beautiful – and Autumn is the perfect time of year for Ohio in the country. Three, the groom has an absolutely horrible memory, and this way he stands a pretty darn good chance of never forgetting our anniversary.

Where did he propose?

Where it all began. Geoff's absolutely horrible memory aside, he still remembers vividly where the two of them first met – at the Performing Arts Center in the then-brand-new Wooster High School. Geoff was there to visit some friends who were in a show, and Laura came walking out of the PAC dressed in overalls. Over a decade's worth of friendship passed between that first meeting and their first date (good things come to those who wait) but when the time came to pop the question, it made sense to bring things full circle. On Christmas of 2008, Geoff drove Laura back to the no-longer-quite-so-new Wooster High School, pulled an engagement ring out of his pocket... And the rest, as they say, is history.

Did you two really spend your first year of dating on opposite sides of the planet?

Yep. Laura was finishing up her commitment to the Japanese Exchange and Teaching program in Ise, Japan and Geoff was up to his eyeballs in his graduate studies at MIT. All we can say is – as noted above – good things come to those who wait. That, and God bless iChat.
